Míle buíochas dóibh ar fad.

At the event, Bernadette Mullarkey, Cathaoirleach Ghaillimh le Gaeilge extended a warm ‘céad míle fáilte’ to the newly elected Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Pearce Flannery who was elected last week.

She also spoke about work in the weeks ahead for Gaillimh le Gaeilge as they facilitate the process of preparing a New Irish language Plan for Galway city.  She went on to say:

“The New Irish Language Plan for Galway will strengthen Galway’s position as Ireland’s Bilingual City and it will also add cultural value to our year as European Capital of Culture in 2020. There are also loads of potential here for using new media to make Irish more mainstream and fun.   Yes, there is work is to be done, but with the support of Galway City Council, Cairde Ghaillimh le Gaeilge and other key organisations, we can be sure of a successful plan for our city. The biggest challenge will be to get the proper resources needed to implement the New Language Plan.”

Go raibh míle maith agaibh!
