Ár gCairde McCambridge’s 90 bliain ar an bhfód

Over 4 generations and 90 years of high quality retail of artisan food and wine, the renowned Galway business family, McCambridge’s has grown from a 1925 high class grocery, provision, wine and spirit establishment to an award winning family owned deli, fine foods shop and restaurant in 2015.

From the left: Úna McCambridge (Daughter of Eoin McCambridge), Cormac Heskin (Son of Norma McCambridge) Natalie McCambridge, Eoin McCambridge and Patrick McCambridge celebrating 90 years in business in McCambridge’s shop on Shop Street.

From humble beginnings with 8 staff in 1925, McCambridge’s today employs 70 in its award winning deli, food shop, off licence, restaurant, and luxury food hampers division.

They are proud to be strong supporters of the Irish language.  Several of their staff members are Irish speakers and they avail of every opportunity to converse as Gaeilge with their customers and run a conversational group ‘Is leor beirt’ every Tuesday morning for people who want to practice their cúpla focal in a relaxed and an casual manner.

Comhghairdeas leo agus go fada buan iad!

Gaeilge À La Carte

We are always on the look out for restaurants and hotels in Galway City who would like to introduce some Irish on their menus.

Gaillimh le Gaeilge provides a free translation service as well as practical advise to  restaurants on possible layouts and the amount of Irish suitable for their menus.

We also host one of our monthly business lunches in the restaurants listed.  These Lónta Gnó are very successful with up to 30 people attending each lunch.

If you would like to use Irish on your menu and be included on the ‘GAEILGE À LA CARTE’ list, please contact us on 091 568876 or email
