“We were absolutely delighted to be the overall winners of the Gradam 2017. The Irish language is such a huge part of our culture and heritage and as one of largest public buildings in the City, with a footfall of over 10 million visitors each year, to support the language is something we are extremely proud off. Especially as Galway City was granted the bilingual status last year and winning the European Capital of Culture 2020.

GALWAY’S NEW TRIBE TO BE ANNOUNCED NEXT WEEK!

With just a few more days left before the big night when Aire Stáit Seán Kyne TD sa Roinn Ealaíon, Oidhreachta, Gnóthaí Réigiúnacha, Tuaithe agus Gaeltachta will announce the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh category winners and the overall winner for 2017. Twelve Galway businesses on the Gradam Gearrliosta, are very busy preparing for the special awards ceremony taking place next Monday the 15th of May at 6.30pm in the Salthill Hotel.  This event has become an important feature in the Galway calendar and this year, it will mark the pinnacle of Gaillimh le Gaeilge’s celebrations of 30 years in business.

Moltóirí Ghradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2017 announced

There is a strong independent adjudicating panel selected again this year for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh and Gaillimh le Gaeilge are delighted to announce that they are; Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, Dean of UCD School of Business, Clíona Ní Mhurchú, Regional Manager, Top Oil, (Winners of Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2016) Tony Barrett, Director, WESTBIC, and Sonya Nic Lochlainn, Corporate Services Manager, Údarás na Gaeltachta. The moltóirí will meet at the beginning of April to select the Gearrliosta. Táimid fíorbhuíoch dóibh as ucht a gcuid ama don phróiseas mholtóireachta.

Gradam Nominees to be announced next week

18 nominees have entered Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, all of which are willing to use the Irish language on a daily basis in their business. The nominees will be unveiled in the Galway Advertiser during Seachtain na Gaeilge on Thursday, 9th of March 2017.

Launch of the Gradam kicks off a year of celebration for Gaillimh le Gaeilge who are 30 years in business this year

The Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Noel Larkin announced the sponsors of Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2017 at a press event in the PorterShed on Tuesday the 24th of January 2017. This event marks the beginning of a special year for Gaillimh le Gaeilge as they celebrate 30 years in business.

Gearrliosta Ghradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2016 revealed

The Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Frank Fahy, announced the 12 businesses who were selected as finalists for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2016 at a press event which took place in the Eyre Square Centre recently.  Gaillimh le Gaeilge has been running Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, Galway’s own bilingual business award, for the past 14 years in association with the Galway Advertiser and with support from the Galway Chamber. This year 20 Galway based businesses have entered the Gradam and the nominations celebrated the outstanding efforts of the business community in Galway in using the language in their business.
